Opal Vadhan is a distinguished public servant and trusted advisor, best known for her work as Personal Aide to Vice President Kamala Harris and Executive Assistant to Secretary Hillary Clinton.
A behind-the-scenes powerhouse, Vadhan has spent the last decade ensuring operational excellence, strategic coordination and people-first leadership at the highest levels of American public life.
A first-generation Indian-American raised in Queens, New York, Vadhan began her career in public service with a life-changing internship at the Obama White House in 2014. After graduating from Pace University in 2015 with a dual degree in Communications and Women & Gender Studies, she joined Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign serving on the national advance team and then as Clinton’s Executive Assistant and Trip Director from 2017-2021.
During the Biden-Harris administration, Vadhan served as the Special Assistant to the President and Personal Aide to Vice President Kamala Harris, also known as the role of “body-woman.”
She supported the first Black and Asian American Vice President for all four years and was by her side over the course of the historic 107-day Presidential campaign.
Her unique experience—working in direct, high-trust support roles for the only two women to receive the Democratic nomination for President—offers rare insight into the critical role executive assistants play in leadership, diplomacy, and public service. Vadhan brings a level of discretion, precision, and compassion that defines world-class executive support.
